Currently, the courses have been removed from our catalog due to NC Rule 21 NCAC 58E .0302 (c): The sponsor of an approved "distance education" elective course, as defined in Rule .0310 of this Subchapter, shall not permit students to register for any such course between June 11 and June 30, inclusive, of any approval period. The sponsor of any such distance education course shall require students registering for any such course to complete the course within 30 days of the date of registration for the course or the date the student is provided the course materials and permitted to begin work, whichever is the later date, provided that the deadline for course completion in any approval period shall not be later than June 10 of that approval period.
Renewal Date: Brokers renew their licenses every June 30 but must complete their CE hours by June 10
Hours Required: 8 hours including the mandatory 4 hour annual Real Estate Update course. If you are designated as a BIC/BIC eligible, you must take the BICAR course as your elective course each year beginning the first full license year after the license year in which the broker declared himself/herself a broker-in-charge.
CE Shop Offering: 0 hours between June 10-June 30th, 2013 due to NC Rule, 21 NCAC 58E .0302 (c). Both the Update course and BICAR course must be taken in a classroom setting. The CE Shop cannot offer either the Update course or the BICAR course at this time.
Seat time: The North Carolina Real Estate Commission requires that all students spend a minimum amount of seat time engaged in the course content. Our online course delivery system manages this requirement for our students.
Reporting: Real estate course completions are reported to the NC REC each business day. It may take an average of 2-4 business days from the time we report your hours before the Commission updates your license and/or updates their website with the hours. Please be patient with this process and understand that it may vary depending on your state. Course completion(s) are reported on the designated and publicly posted scheduled days. Course completion(s) will be reported the following scheduled reporting day from the course completion date(s).
Final Exams: Final exams must be passed with a 75% and may be taken as many times as necessary in order to pass.
Expiration date of course: Courses expire 30 days after the order date or by June 10th of every year, whichever comes first per NC REC requirements for online courses.
Post-licensing: Pleaes visit the NC REC website for information on post-licensing requirements by clicking
here. The post-licensing courses must be taken in a classroom setting. The CE Shop cannot offer the post-licensing courses at this time.
Certificates: Immediately upon real estate course completion, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course Certificate of Completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five (5) years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your renewal application to determine if you need to submit your Certificate(s) of Completion with your renewal. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificates of completion will reflect this.
